Sending files through emails
When you want to send a friend a file, like a picture or a song that is on your computer, you can attach the file to an email, and they’ll receive it instantly. Here’s how to attach a file to an email using Gmail.
First open an Internet browser like Chrome, type "gmail.com" in the address bar and press Enter.
Login using your Google account. If you don't have a Google account, you can view our tutorial about how to create an email address using Gmail.
Once you have logged in, click on the "Compose Mail" button on the left.
Click on the “Attach Files” icon on the bottom bar. It looks like a paperclip.
From here, find the file you want to attach. If you're not sure where to look, try finding it in the Desktop or Documents folder on your computer.
Select the file and click “Open”. Depending on the size of the file, it may take a little while to upload.
When your upload is complete and you have typed the message of your email, click on "Send" to send your email along with the attachment. Different email providers have different size limits of the files you can attach. So you might not always be able to send very heavy files such as videos through an email.
